From the Gulf of Mexico to Stoke on Trent

April 20 2010 - The Deepwater Horizon disaster, the Macondo blowout, which immediately claimed 11 lives on the platform had profound effects on the Gulf causing serious damage to sea life and the coastline of southern US states.

How did this oil leak get to Stoke on Trent? Well not the oil itself but the aftermath did, as BP Oil Ltd needed cash to offset its mounting problems the company was forced to sell off profitable sections of its business, this included the UK business of BP LPG a subsidiary of BP Oil Ltd.

The sale of this business to DCC Plc of Dublin and eventually finding its way into the hands of Flogas Britain Ltd had a direct effect upon a small family business in Stoke on Trent, run by Michael McNicholas, Flogas deny a vendetta against Michael McNicholas and his business, going back to 1999, but as this story unfolds I will let you be the judge.
